![]() ![]() Specific Thumbnails of any kind no longer show up in the finderĬommon file types (mp3, aac, jpg, png, pdf) no longer open in their default apps. Things copied from Chrome can still be pasted into the above mentioned apps. ![]() Here is a list of what I have been seeing, running High Sierra 10.13.6:Ĭut/Copy/Paste functions no longer work within or between basic system applications (iTunes 12.8.2.3, Safari 13.1.2) but also Firefox and possibly others. Reading around online suggests that other users are also having these problems, but they are not being discussed as a package, which I suspect that they are. Suddenly, in the last 30 days, a number of very simple functions (some vital, some not) have broken down. I have deliberately not upgraded in order to preserve the ability to use legacy software such as Abobe CS6. I have a 2017 iMac running High Sierra off of an external Thunderbolt SSD. Sudden Multiple Bugs in High Sierra Hi Friends, ![]() I've also not installed any 3rd party apps nor have I done anything much at all to 'upset the applecart" (pun) since I use the desktop primarily these days for cataloguing photos and writing letters. Side Note: I've run diagnostics to determine whether or not a virus or malware is present and my computer seems to be clean of any malware. Is it possible that this is true? If so, is there anyway I can reverse whatever was embedded into my system? even in Sierra! This seems outrageous to me. When I looked into it, I found out that (I'm not a techie, so forgive my improper use of jargon) Apple has somehow embedded code into my system that blocks 32 bit applications from opening. ![]() This includes software used for burning information to CDs/DVDs, In recent months, I noticed that a couple of my apps no longer work-getting an error messages that "this version doesn't work with your OS". The hardware for my computer ALSO will not allow me to upgrade beyond High Sierra and I find no benefit to doing that upgrade. especially the high-priced ones such as Photoshop, QuarkXpress, Illustrator and others. Bottom line: My current (also old) applications would not run on a higher version, since many are 32-bit, and I can't justify the cost of updated applications. But it's likely the last one I'll ever have.Ĭurrently running Sierra v 10.12.6 and have been okay with whatever limitations this presents. I had an MacPro (Mid 2010) - yes, I know, it's a dinosaur. ![]()
